Account Plans Added

After nearly a year in invite-only beta, we’re very excited to be launching account plans. If the free account doesn’t quite meet your file sharing needs, you can now upgrade to one of three paid account plans:

  • Large (20 GB storage / 200 GB monthly downloads / $74/year)
  • Regular (10 GB storage / 100 GB monthly downloads / $44/year)
  • Small (5 GB storage / 50 GB monthly downloads / $24/year)

If you haven’t checked in since we launched, you will now notice that you can also update your profile, retrieve a lost password, and link directly to files (no download page).

We’ve received lots of great feedback from users during the invite-only phase and are looking forward to implementing requested features, bettering the user experience, and opening up an API for developers.

Introducing SharURL

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally ready.  I’m so happy to finally announce my latest project — SharURL (pronounced SHAIR-uhl — like a woman’s name).

SharURL is a convenient way to share files with friends and family. You simply open your web browser to sharurl.com, click the big blue button, and select files from your computer.  Then you watch as your files are uploaded, packed into a zip file, and a short, unique URL is created for you to share.

We are currently in the Invite-only Beta phase.  Invite-only implying you will need to know someone with an invite code to be able to signup; and beta implying that we are constantly working to improve the system and there may be a few hiccups along the way.  The following features will be coming soon:

  1. Reset account password
  2. Update account profile
  3. Direct file linking
  4. Screencast
  5. Password protection
  6. Simpler, cleaner design
  7. Storage space / monthly file transfer upgrades
  8. An API for developers
